Tips & Tricks For a Successful iPod Party or Disco

  • Remember the 4 P's, Plan, Plan, Practice and have a backup Plan! We offer help with playlists should you want it.
  • Use 2 iPods, it can be done with 1, but 2 are better, if your music's on a laptop, it's better still, use it, it will connect to our equipment.
  • Plan a 'running order' in addition to 'playlists' and choose your music to suit the type of event and the crowd you expect
  • Load the entire playlist content onto both iPods, it will give you more flexibility to 'react to the floor'
  • If possible have a backup iPod or laptop with the music loaded on to it, just in case one goes on the blink!
  • Have a selection of 'floor filler' tracks loaded onto both players so you can dump a track that's clearing the floor without an embarrasing gap.
  • From a DJ's perspective the music is not for you, you should be playing songs your audience want to hear and dance to.
  • If you've a mixed age group, crowd, include plenty of party classics in the early evening disco, save the dancey chart tunes for later on
  • Run your MP3 files through MP3Gain before loading them into your iPod, it's free, it's easy, and will ensure a constant level of volume
