It's already big in America, and it's getting popular here too, recent advances in technology has made using the music on your iPod a real alternative to hiring a DJ for your party. In my personal opinion, a good DJ with quality kit is the best option if you're planning a large formal wedding, and you have the budget, but there're many reasons why this may not be your choice. Maybe your budget is tight, or perhaps you want to hire a band, so only need the disco for the last hour, and you can't justify the cost of a DJ. On the other hand, you just want to 'do it yourself', have fun, and save your hard earned cash for the honeymoon

iPod Wedding Hire

Our basic iPod wedding package is suitable for parties of around 120+ guests. The Numark iCDMix2 player will allow the playback of MP3 files from your iPod or your laptop, it has twin CD players built in, and turntables can be connected if required.
The wedding package also includes a microphone for the speeches plus four lighting effects and wind up stands for the evening disco. For your peace of mind, spare connecting leads will be provided in 'just in case', and the hire period has been extended to 48 hrs so you can set it up and 'have a practise' before the big day.

Tips For a Successful iPod Wedding / Party / Event

Remember the 4 P's, Plan, Plan, Plan and Practice, we offer an extended hire period at no extra cost to enable you to have a practice, use it !!

Use 2 iPods, it can be done with 1, but 2 are better, if your music's on a laptop, it's better still, use it, it will connect to our equipment.

Plan a 'running order' in addition to 'playlists' and alternate selections between players at natural 'break points'

Always include extra tracks in each sector case of an over run in your calculations. it happens, even to pros!

Load the entire playlist content onto both iPods, it will give you more flexibility to 'react to the floor'

If possible have a backup iPod or laptop with the music loaded on to it, just in case one goes on the blink!

Nominate a responsible person (a bit techie is good) to 'keep an eye on things' and make any anouncements, or intervene if needed

Have a selection of evenings disco tracks on both players so you can dump a track that's clearing the floor without an embarrasing gap.

From a DJ's perspective the music is not for you, you should be playing songs your guests want to hear and dance to.

Resist the urge to 'motormouth' on the microphone, it's not cool, remember, less is usually more!

Run your MP3 files through MP3Gain before loading them into your iPod, it's free, it's easy, and will ensure a constant level of volume
